The Electronic Prescription Service is changing
The next phase of EPS (Phase 4) is being introduced at GP practices in England. This will mean that almost all of your prescriptions will be signed and sent electronically.
If you do not have a nominated chosen chemist you will be given a printed token (not prescription) which you can take to your chosen chemist in England. The chemist will then download the signed EPS prescription from the NHS spine using the token.
For more information please speak to dispensary at the surgery or visit www.nhs.uk
Pharmacy 2 You, Med Express, UK Meds, Pharmacy Express and Pharmacy Direct
The above companies are not connected to us or our doctors in any way. They are simply private companies providing a prescription delivery service.
You may have received a letter containing our name or an NHS logo delivered to your address offering you free medication delivery, again they are not connected to us and you do not have to use them.
We will continue to provide you with the prescription service as we always have and very much appreciate your loyalty.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Free Prescriptions
It is the patients responsibility to ensure that they are entitled to claim for free prescriptions and to provide proof of this when collecting their medication from the practice.
Home Delivery
We offer a home delivery service to patients once per month. This service is for patients who are unable to get to the surgery and who do not have anyone they can ask to collect their medication.
For more information please call the surgery and speak to dispensary.
Please allow three full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
